![]() 2018 starts optimistically for Bulgarian cinema, which in 2017 won many international awards and appearances in competition programs but for the first time in many years it has won the hearts of Bulgarian audiences, heading the weekly box office four times with the films: “Voevoda” by Zornitsa Sofia Popgantcheva, “Gasoline” by Katerina Goranova and Assen Blatechki, “Heights” by Victor Bojinov and “Bubblegum” by Stanislav Todorov-Rogi. In 2017 more than 50 feature and short films, documentaries and animations were created with the support of National Film Centre and have achieved success among Bulgarian and international audiences.
